Designer Denise Cox has created a pendant to raise money for the Guiding Eyes for the Blind guide dog service, and it’ll be auctioned off at a golf outing fundraiser in Mount Kisco, N.Y., on June 8.
Tickets must be purchased in advance for the event at www.biddingforgood.com/guidingeyes, and the necklace will also be listed on the site.
The almond flower pendant has silver petals with a “heart of gold” and a “dusting” of tiny yellow sapphires, according to Cox, a Brookfield resident. A hidden slide on the back of the pendant allows it to become a brooch.
The almond flower, which “advances against the sometimes hostile elements of nature,” represents the service dog, who “precedes its master,” Cox said.
